U mbulua qielli me re të zeza
mu ne mes të ditës, qirinjët ndeza.
S’ish’ ditë vere ishte ditë janari
kur këputi frymën e një atdhetari.
Lajmin kur dëgjova, shumë u trishtova
than se kishte vdekur, Ibrahim Rugova.
Eu Ibrahim Rugova eu,
s’të mundi dot plumbi por të mundi dheu!
Ti gjithmonë ke qenë, sinonim i lirisë
dhe në mes t’prishtinës ngrite, flamurin e Dardanisë.
Atë ditë kur ti jetë ndërrove, dielli u zhduk, ndriqimi iu shkund
se drita e fytyrës tënde atë të diellit e mund.
Ti kishe në dorë, qelësin e lirisë
edhe një kurorë, atë të pavarësisë.
Ti do të jetosh me vite,ti s’do vdesësh kurrë
se në rrugë të pavarësisë ti vure një gur,
një gur të fortë që kurrë nuk thehet
që kujtimi ynë për ty kurrë të mos të zbehet.
Për ç’do ditë unë, do t’i them Kosovës
mos të harroj mundin e Ibrahim Rugovës.
